Funeral services for Earl O. Buss, age 58 of Hunter will be 2 PM Thursday at Hunter First Christian Church with Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home.

He was born November 26, 1940 in Enid to Roy and Bernice Johnson Buss and died Sunday in St. Mary's Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness. He was raised in the Hunter community where he attended and graduated from Hunter High School in 1959. He then attended O.S.U. He married Phyllis Collier in Hunter December 27, 1960.

He was a member of Hunter First Christian Church where he was past Board Chairman and also was an Elder. He was a Jr. Master Farmer and Past Pres. of the State and National Gelbvieh Association. In January 1999 he was inducted in the National Gelbvieh Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Hunter Young Farmers, and past member of Hunter Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home, one son, Steve and his wife Hiedi Buss of Hunter, one daughter, Sherri Buss of Dallas, Texas, two granddaughters, Audrey and Caitlin both of Hunter, and his father, Roy Buss of Enid. Also surviving are three brothers, Dennis Buss of Tonkawa, Edwin Buss of Seminole, and Burrell Buss of Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his mother Bernice Buss.

Memorials may be made through the Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home to the Pond Creek Hunter Young Farmers.
