Wanda Bushnell passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Mesilla Valley Hospice Center, Las Cruces, New Mexico. She moved from Enid, Oklahoma, August 26, 2004, to be near her daughters.

Visitation with the family will be held at Henninger – Allen Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM today, April 28, 2006. Services will be held in Henninger – Allen Chapel at 10 AM Saturday, April 29, 2006. Alan Seibel, of Davis Park Christian Church, will be presiding. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Wanda was born to Thomas Floyd Shaw and Elizabeth Louise Armstrong Shaw in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on December 6, 1920. Wanda moved to Oklahoma in 1925 and married Melvin Hugh Bushnell in 1937. They celebrated 62 years of marriage. She and Melvin worked side-by-side from 1948 until they sold Bushnell's Shoe Repair shop in 1989.

Wanda is survived by her two daughters, Billie Meitler and husband Steve of El Paso, Texas, and Sally Cline and husband Gary of Las Cruces, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Dusty Meitler and Judy of El Paso, Texas, Robbie Meitler of Boston, Massachusetts, Montgomery Meitler of Austin, Texas, David Cline and Cathy of Minot, North Dakota, Cynthia Potter of Lake Forest, California, Yvette Poole of Newport Coast, California, Corie Cline of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and tell 12 great – grandchildren. Other survivors include four brothers and three sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, a sister, Gwen Autin, and a brother, Floyd Shaw Jr.

Wanda was a very giving person and will be missed by all that knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Davis Park Christian Church or Mesilla Valley Hospice Center, Las Cruces, New Mexico. Henninger – Allen Funeral Home will receive the memorials.
