The funeral for Melvin H. Bushnell, 86, will be 10 AM Monday at Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dan Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born July 10, 1913, at Kansas City, Missouri, to W. L. and Minnie Blanchard Bushnell and died Friday, September 24, 1999, at his home in Enid after a lengthy illness. He graduated from Enid High School.

On May 5, 1937, he married Wanda L. Shaw at Drummond. The couple owned and operated Bushnell Shoe Shop in Enid from 1954 to 1987, when they retired. He was a member of Oakwood Christian Church and the Willing Workers Sunday school class.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Billie Meitler of El Paso, Texas, and Sally Cline of Laguna Hills, California; one brother, Bill of Enid; one sister, Helen Beckham of Enid; seven grandchildren; and eight great – grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cookson Hills Christian Ministry.
