June 18, 1907 ~ January 4, 1985


Graveside services for Loren D. Burke, 77, who died early Friday in a local hospital after an apparent heart attack, will be at 2 PM Sunday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr Lloyd H. Lambert, senior minister at Central Christian Church, will officiate. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

The casket will be open at the funeral home until 1:30 PM Sunday.

Burke was born June 18, 1907, at Atica, Kansas, and as a child moved with his parents to Perry where he attended schools.

He and And Vera L. Medlock were married February 7, 1932, at Guthrie.

Burke was employed by Safeway as market manager in Guthrie and Oklahoma City before moving to Enid in July 1949. He leased a meat market at 307 E. Maine and later at Kenwood Boulevard before his retirement in July 1968.

Burke served in the United States Army, attached to the 5th Air Force during World War II. He also served two years in the Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations, and was a member of the American legion, Argonne Post No. 4.

Survivors include his wife, Vera, of the home; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Memorials in his name may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division, with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.

ENID, OK - Graveside Service for Mitchell J. Burke, 78, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum with Rev. Lesly Broadbent officiating. Service under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Mitchell was born August 6, 1935, in Green Bay, WI, the son of Joseph and Marion Sobieck Burke and passed away August 10, 2013.

He came to the Enid area when he was stationed at Vance Air Force Base in 1955. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Warkentine December 9, 1955, in Fairview, OK. He was employed by the YMCA and later for George Failings. He had many hobbies, collecting coins and working on his computer.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ruth Ann; two daughters, Pam Reynolds of Olathe, KS and Debbie Ward and her husband, Mark of Stillwater, OK; a son, Wesley and his wife, Janet of Tomball, TX; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of funds. Online condolences may be left at ladusauevans.com.
