The funeral service for Vera Lue Burdg will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018, in the Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Lyle Buller officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Vera Lue was born April 13, 1924, in Whitesboro, TX, to John Leonard and Vera Elfa (Stubblefield) Phelps and passed away peacefully in her home in Enid November 21, 2018, surrounded by her family.

On May 17, 1941, Vera Lue married Clarence Burdg in Olney, TX. She was a longtime faithful member of Victory Bible Church. She was a talented seamstress, and Vera Lue enjoyed working at Marquis and Hackworth Studios as well as McDonald's. She was a loving, caring, funny, bighearted lady with a strong faith in God. Vera Lue enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, playing cards and traveling. She also loved her dogs Pudgy, Sammy and Precious, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, who she truly cherished.

Vera Lue is survived by her son, Harvey Lee Burdg and wife Lou Ann of Enid; daughter, Velda Bell of Enid; grandchildren, Lee Ann Burdg, Tim Burdg, Brent Burdg and John Burdg, Jade Bell and wife Jolene, Josh Bell and Lisa O'Neal; great-grandchildren, Zechariah Burdg, Jonah Burdg, Lavender Burdg, Madison Burdg, Ashlee Burdg, Alexus Burdg, Jordan Burdg, Garrett Bell, Sydney Bell, Allie Wadford and Garret Dimhoff; brothers, J.W. Phelps, Orval Phelps, Virgil Phelps and Billy Phelps; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence; brothers, J.E. Phelps and Robert Phelps; sisters, Christine Garret, Betty Slaton, Patsy McCauley, Brenda Drain, Glenda Roberts and Rhonda Tyler.

Memorials can be given to Valir Hospice or Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
