Celebration of Life service for Kenneth “Granddad” “Buck” Buchanan, 91, of Enid, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. today, Sept. 7, at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Farnsworth, Texas, to D. Renney and Alice DeVault Buchanan and passed away at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014.

Kenneth attended and graduated from Enid High School. Buck was chosen for All-State in basketball in 1941 and went on to play basketball at Oklahoma A&M for Henry Iba.

He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force and was discharged in 1953.

He married Glenna Wampler on Feb. 6, 1943, in Wichita, Kan. She passed away Oct. 14, 2005.

Kenneth and Glenna were co-owners of Tia Juana Restaurant, where he enjoyed and cherished his customers. Buck closed the restaurant on Sept. 28, 2012, after 68 years.

Buck liked to fish and go to the casino. He loved to spoil his grandkids.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Marshall of Enid; daughter-in-law, Judy Buchanan of Enid; grandchildren, Jeff Burdick, Kimberly and Jerod Burford, Matt and Ashley Buchanan, Shelly and Jason Glotzbach; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna; son, Glen; daughter, Jeanette; grandson, Lyle; three brothers and three sisters.
