© Enid Morning News Enid, Oklahoma April 1976 July 2, 1904 ~ April 27, 1976 Graveside rites for William Thomas "Buck" Buchanan, former Enid resident, will be 11 AM Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr Leslie G. Everitt officiating. Buchanan died Tuesday in a Phoenix, Arizona, hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be observed first in Arizona and the ashes will be returned to Enid for burial. Henninger-Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Buchanan came to Enid in 1930 from Michigan and was involved in the soda pop bottling industry here, owning the Dr Pepper bottling company, and as partner with George Pat Ireland in 1940 in the Seven-Up bottling company. He sold his interest in the business and went into investments. Buchanan and his wife, Virginia went to Arizona for the winter six years ago when his health turned bad. They later moved to Mesa. In Enid he was a member of the Rotary Club, the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce and the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Virginia, of the home; three sons, William J. of Miami, Bradford L., William J. of Miami, Florida, Bradford L. of Altus; Robert of Seattle; two daughters, Mrs Bruce [Beverly Ann] Dieterlan of Tulsa and Dianne Meyer of Switzerland, and a step-daughter, Dianne Newlin of Stillwater; a brother, two sisters and 16 grandchildren. Contributions to the American Cancer Society are suggested by the family as a suitable memorial fund. For those who want to make contributions, the funeral home will act as custodian. While in Enid for the services the family will stay in the home of Mrs Joe Champlin. |

© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma September 7, 2014 October 16, 1922 ~ September 3, 2014 Celebration of Life service for Kenneth “Granddad” “Buck” Buchanan, 91, of Enid, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with the Rev Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4-5 pm today, September 7, at the funeral home. Kenneth was born October 16, 1922, in Farnsworth, Texas, to D. Renney and Alice DeVault Buchanan and passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Kenneth attended and graduated from Enid High School. Buck was chosen for All-State in basketball in 1941 and went on to play basketball at Oklahoma A&M for Henry Iba. He served in the US Army and US Air Force and was discharged in 1953. He married Glenna Wampler on February 6, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas. She passed away October 14, 2005. Kenneth and Glenna were co-owners of Tia Juana Restaurant, where he enjoyed and cherished his customers. Buck closed the restaurant on September 28, 2012, after 68 years. Buck liked to fish and go to the casino. He loved to spoil his grandkids. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Marshall of Enid; daughter-in-law, Judy Buchanan of Enid; grandchildren, Jeff Burdick, Kimberly and Jerod Burford, Matt and Ashley Buchanan, Shelly and Jason Glotzbach; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna; son, Glen; daughter, Jeanette; grandson, Lyle; three brothers and three sisters. |
© Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma October 2005 July 7, 1922 ~ October 14, 2005 Glenna "Granny" Buchanan, age 83, of Enid died early Friday, October 14, 2005 at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital following a period of ill health. She was born July 7, 1922 in Enid, OK to Arthur and Reba Henry Wampler. She married Kenneth Buchanan February 6, 1943 in Wichita Falls, TX. She worked and was co-owner with her husband at the Tia Juana Restaurant for 60 years and was known to friends and customers as "Granny." She attended Oklahoma A-M College. She worked at the aircraft company in Oklahoma City during WW II. She helped her dad at Wampler Transfer Company. One grandson, Lyle, preceded her in death in 1997. Funeral services will be Monday, October 17, 205 at 10:00 am at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Rev Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery. |

© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma December 3, 2008 April 12, 1936 ~ December 1, 2008 The funeral service for Betty Joyce Buchanan, age 72, will be at 10 am Thursday, Dececember 4, 2008, at Harvest Time Worship Center, with her son-in-law, Rev Carl Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. She was born to Ervin Eugene and Alger Mae [King] Franks on April 12, 1936, in Houston, MS, and died Monday, December 1, 2008, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid. Betty grew up in Mississippi. On August 1, 1954, she married Jack Buchanan in Rock Island, IL, and they made their home in Moline, IL. They moved to Enid in March 2000. She worked at Wal-Mart in the shoe department until her retirement. She was a dedicated member of Harvest Time Worship Center, where she was involved in the prayer ministry and Christmas ministry for Special Ed children. Betty loved to be surrounded by her friends and family, and loved to talk on the phone to them. She especially enjoyed gathering with her neighbors, what she affectionately referred to as "neighboring." Betty is survived by her three daughters, Theresa Roberts and husband Carl of Enid, Paula Egner and husband Allen of Chattanooga, TN, Susan Korth and husband Steve of Lee's Summit, MO; six grandchildren, Emily Case and husband, Capt Jason Case, Brandon and Jonathan Roberts, Jesse Nelson and wife, Bethanie, Brittney and Andrew Korth; one great granddaughter expected in March 2009; two brothers, William Franks of Erie, IL, and David Franks of Mountain Home, AR; and four sisters, Linda Nache and Dorothy Lopez, both of Moline, IL, Jackie Lopez and Sheila Rogers, both of Springfield, OH. Betty was also survived by her beloved dog, Peanut. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, and husband of 50 years, Jack Buchanan. |

Funeral services will be 10 AM Thursday at Ladusau Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rocky was born November 7, 1952. He attended Enid schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1971. On May 28, 1977 he married Carol Fischer. He was a carpenter by trade. He is survived by his wife Carol; a daughter Kristie of the home; his parents Mr and Mrs Lloyd Buchanan; and a sister Patsy Ferguson of Round Rock Texas. |

Heidi Buchanan was born September 4, 1964, to Dale August and Dixie Lee Luering in Chicago Heights Illinois, and passed from this life September 2, in Enid. She was raised and educated in Park Forest. She then moved to Chicago Heights for 12 years. She then made her home in Steger, Illinois until 2016 when she moved to Enid. She worked in various industries through out her life. She enjoyed reading and watching her favorite shows and movies. She was devoted to spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters; Sierra and Lacey April, Tasha Padgett, and Tiffany Wondrasek Smith and four grandchildren Kali, Kendall, Kloe and Zach.
