April 28, 1939 - June 27, 2018

Rose Mary Rundell Brooks, 79, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 4801 S. Austin St. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018, at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr.

Rose was born in Dodge City, Kansas, on April 28, 1939, to Clifford and Irma Rundell. She graduated from Bucklin High School, and obtained her nursing degree at Northwest Texas Hospital's School of Nursing. Rose married the love of her life, Bruce Brooks, on August 4, 1957, in Bucklin, Kansas. She worked as an RN and was a nursing educator for almost 30 years. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and five sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce Brooks of Amarillo; two sons, Lonnie L. Brooks and wife Rhonda of Amarillo, Scott Brooks and wife Lynn of Wheeler; two daughters, Jane Willie of Marble Falls, Laura Ratheal and husband David of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clarabelle Stephenson and husband, Lewis, of Kansas City, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Kingswood United Methodist Church, 4801 S. Austin St. Amarillo, TX 79110 or Gideons International, 2200 SW 7th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79106.
