Funeral service for Brooks F. Braley, age 71, of Enid will be 2 PM Thursday at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home.

Brooks was born on November 10, 1930 in Buffalo, Oklahoma to Murlin V. and Hattie Elda Knight Braly and died September 10, 2002 in Enid.

Brooks grew up and graduated from high school in Buffalo, and then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva where he received Bachelors of Education. He then taught music in the Pioneer and Manchester school systems before going to work for Champlin Refinery for 10 years. Then he took a job at the Enid Board of Education in the maintenance department where he worked until his retirement.

On June 3, 1954 in Enid he married Helen Wehling. Brooks was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

His wife Helen of the home; a brother Dr. Berton Braly of Oregon; a sister Shirley McElhiney and husband David of Kansas; two sister – in – law's Margarita Braly of Woodward, and Gwen Dalke and husband Gerald of Edmond, and 14 nieces and nephews survive him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dr. Knight Braly, and one nephew Dr. Alan Braly.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Memorial of your choice.
