December 17, 1935 - October 11, 2018

Celebration of life services for Lena “Grace” Bonnewell, 82, Enid, will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Chaplain Jeff Baker officiating. Committal prayers and interment will be held privately in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Grace was born on December 17, 1935 in Waynoka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Julia Pearl Ferguson Krob and Leonard George Krob, and passed away on October 11, 2018 in Enid. She attended all her schooling in the Waynoka School District. In 1953, she married Wayne H. Downing and had three children, Patty, Polly, and Denny. They moved to Enid in 1970 where she worked for St. Mary’s Hospital for fifteen years. Grace purchased her own liquor store and later in life worked for Koehn’s Liquor and Crosstown Liquor, retiring at age 75. Grace loved family, friends and was always the life of the party. She collected pink flamingos as a fun hobby. Grace loved basketball, football and all sports. She was the biggest cheerleader for Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.

She was preceded in passing by three husbands, her parents, and one sister.

Grace is survived by three children, Patty and husband David Davis of Wylie, Texas, Polly Downing of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Denny Downing of Plano, Texas; her good friends and caretakers, Roger Gamble and Liz Skinner; four grandchildren, Amy Jo Clark, Jamie Hunt, Tara Coburn and Sheila Davis; six great-grandchildren, Charlie Gallamore, Ellie Grace Clark, Crue Clark , Channing Clark, Sasha Davis and Cole Davis.

Grace is also survived by lots of family members and lifetime friends. Grace will be greatly missed.
