A Celebration of Life for Lloyd Eugene “Gene” Black Sr., age 70 years, of Wichita, Kansas, is 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Milam officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Lloyd was born September 23, 1945 in Longton, Kansas to William Payton Black and Dora Anna (Davis) Black. Lloyd passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 in Wichita, Kansas.

He married Patricia McElfresh on January 31, 1971 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. They had four children and made their home between Wichita, Kansas and Enid. Gene was an over the road truck driver for many years before owning his own tire service, Gene and Son’s Tire. After retirement he was a contractor for the Enid News & Eagle for several years.

Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather, brother and uncle. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed spending time with them fishing, camping and going “mudding’ in his beloved 2000 Chevy Truck. He will be terribly missed by them all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dora Black, a son, Lloyd Eugene Black, Jr.; three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia, of the home in Wichita; three children, Geneva Moore and husband Chad, of Wichita; Anna Wheeler of Enid; Daniel Black and fiancé Nyssa of Wichita; grandson, Terry Winkleman and wife Chelsie, of Wichita; one sister, Ronna Vance and husband Rod, of Ringwood; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Donations in Gene’s name may be made to the donor’s choice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
