© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma August 28, 2014 December 17, 1932 ~ August 25, 2014 Funeral service for Nilene Bittle will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Tom Bittle will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today, Aug. 28, at the funeral home. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. She was born December 17, 1932, in Ringwood, Okla., to D. A. and Judith [Koons] Reed and passed away Monday, August 25, 2014, in Ardmore, Okla. Her early life was spent on a farm north of Enid and her family later moved to a farm east of Enid. She was a 1950 graduate of Garber High School. She married Dale L. Bittle on June 8, 1951. They made their home in North Enid. Since the age of 16, she was a member of Followers of Christ Church. She worked at North Enid School, Enid Daily News, Central National Bank, Communications Federal Credit Union and Larry Black Sporting Goods. She is survived by her children, Rick and Sandy Bittle of Yukon, Peggy and Dan Thorne of Ardmore, Cindy Ewing of Celina, Texas, Judy and Stephen Glazier of McAlester, Tom and Cindy Bittle of Yukon, Gail Bittle of Dallas, Texas, and Holly and Jay Rubio of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Scott and Keelee Bittle, Brieanne and Daniel Nguyen, Blake and Tiffany Thorne, Amy Thorne, Aubrey Ewing, KenDale and Ben Barker, Kedrian Glazier, Kelsey Glazier, Jordann Bittle, Weston Bittle, Leah Rubio, Trinidad Rubio and Eric Rubio; great grandchildren, Barrett Bittle and Paisley Thorne; brother, Bill and Hazel Reed of Enid; sisters, Doretta Lang of Denison, Texas, and Decella Belongie of Benbrook, Texas; husband's family, Bill and Mary Evelyn Estill, Bruce Bittle, Connie Bittle, Glenda Babb, Carolyn States, Ron and Liz Bittle and Dave and Janet Bittle. |

© Anderson~Burris Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma August 2022 March 24, 1934 ~ August 7, 2022 Funeral service for Bruce Bittle, 88, of Covina, California will be Friday, August 26, 2022 at 10:00 am at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy LeGrand officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Bruce was born on March 24, 1934 in North Enid to Roy and Darlean McCabe Bittle . He was number 4 of 9 children & loved his large family. Bruce graduated from Enid High School in 1952. Bruce eloped in 1953 with Betty Lee Phillips. They were happily married until her death in 2013. Bruce was trained as a machinist and he and Betty moved from Enid to Tucson, Arizona in 1961 to work at the air force base there. They continued to live in Arizona, where he worked at a copper mine until 1968, when they moved to California where he was foreman at Johnston Pump Company where he retired. After retirement, Bruce did wrought iron fabrication and drove a truck. He and Betty often traveled together. In 2002 Bruce and Betty moved back to the Tulsa area, where he built a house on Keystone Lake. In 2012, Bruce & Betty were forced to move back to California due to poor health. Bruce moved in with and was cared for by Cheryl, Garth & Jeremy Epler. Bruce was a vital part of their household and loved by all who met him. Bruce was on hospice care & died at their Covina home. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, 5 of his brothers and sisters, his son, Bruce Lee and his wife, Betty. Bruce is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Epler of Covina, California and Rebecca Serna of Mesa Arizona, 4 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. |

© Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma May 2013 July 28, 1937 ~ May 22, 2013 Betty (Phillips) Bittle, 75, passed away May 22, 2013 in Baldwin Park, California. Betty lost her battle to seizures she bravely fought her entire adult life. Betty was born on July 28, 1937, in Enid, Oklahoma, the only child of Curtis & Loretta [Webb] Phillips. Betty grew up in Enid & married Bruce Bittle in 1953. They had just proudly celebrated 60 years of marriage April 24th. In 1959, Bruce & Betty moved away from Enid to Arizona & later on to California. In 2003, they returned to the Tulsa area where they built their dream home. They were recently forced by health reasons to return to California to be closer to their children. Betty worked several jobs outside of the home, including that of sales clerk for Woolsworth's & JC Penney's, as an Avon lady & as a trucking partner with Bruce. Her most cherished roles were those of housewife, mother & grandmother. Betty was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Bittle, of Covina, California. Daughter & son-in-law, Cheryl & Garth Epler of Covina, California, Daughter, Rebecca Serna of Mesa, Arizona, Son & daughter-in-law, Lee & Janet Bittle of Fort Mohave, Arizona. Grandchildren Jeremy, Mario, Angela & Valerie & 4 greatgrandchildren. The family will be receiving visitors at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 6 to 7:30 pm. Services will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Enid. Rev Keith Miller will preside over the services.
