January 24, 1947 - February 13, 2005

The funeral for Sgt. 1st Class Timothy C. Bingham, 58, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Willow Road Christian Church. Carrell E. Still, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. He was born Jan. 24, 1947, in Shidler to Albert and Doreen Head Bingham and died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He attended Enid Public Schools, graduating from Enid High School in 1965. He joined Oklahoma National Guard in 1964 and worked for the Coca Cola Bottling Co. from 1965 to 1969. He married Vickie Tremain in 1968. He graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Alva in 1970 and worked for Perry High School for 13 years as a business teacher. He coached wrestling, tennis, girls softball; was the Perry wrestling tournament director; and spent many years announcing the PHS football games. He married Patricia Nichols in 1975.

In 1983, he began working full time for Oklahoma National Guard, serving 14 years in Enid and six years in Lawton. He served with 45th Field Artillery Brigade for more than 40 years, attaining the rank of major. Commendations included Army Service Ribbon, Army Driver’s Badge, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal four times, Armed Forces Reserve Medal twice, Non-Commissioned Officer Profes-sional Defense Service Medal three times, Army Good Conduct Medal six times, Army Commendation Medal twice, Armed Forces Reserve Medal three times, Meritorious Service Medal twice. In 1994, he was named Oklahoma Active Guard Reserve Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year.

He was a member of Willow Road Christian Church where he was active in choir and Bible study.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia; his mother, Doreen Walker; his stepmother, Leila Bingham; four sons, Jason Bingham, Chris Nichols, Steve Nichols and Maj. Brad Nichols; two sisters, Bonnie Phillips and Melody Johnson; one stepbrother, Daryl Koon; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma National Guard Scholarship Fund.
