Funeral services for Virginia R. "Jenny" Best, age 65 of Enid, will be 2 PM Tuesday, January 29, 2002, in Ladusau – Evans Chapel. Rev. Marvin Goodpasture will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born December 7, 1936, in Covington to Marvin and Elizabeth Kegin Coen and died Friday, January 25, 2002, in Enid Senior Care.

Jenny attended the Covington and Garber school systems.

On October 8, 1952, she married Eugene Riggins in Enid.

On December 7, 1964, Jenny married Thomas Best at the Davis Park Christian Church of Enid. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1994.

For 29 years, Jenny was a waitress for Pollie & Peggy's Café of Enid until its closure. She also worked for the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and the Willow Inn Café until her retirement in 1992. She then went out on the truck with her husband until a stroke made it impossible for her to travel.

She is survived by two children, Kathy Wheeler and her husband Frank, and Thomas William Best Jr.; a brother, Jess Coen all of Enid, two sisters, Jane Collins of Salt Plains, Oklahoma, and Freda Riggins of Enid, five grandchildren and six great – grandchildren.

Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Best, two sisters and a son, Jr. Riggins.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Lung Division.
