The funeral services for Jesse E. Bernard, 84, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Sherry Shaw will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jesse was born Jan. 1, 1923 in Eagletown, OK to Charles and Allie O’Brien and passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007.

He at-tended school in Norman, OK and served during World War II.

He was married several times, but the last to Velma Dusbabek was the love of his life. They were married Dec. 1, 1955 and lived in England, Montana, Nebraska, and finally settled in Enid. After he retired from the military, he worked for Webster and Goodson as an auto mechanic.

Surviving are his daughters, Debra Lounsbury and Ann Weber and husband Les; sister, Opal Songer and Clarice Cracchiolo; brothers, Willie and Jackie Bernard, Jody and Jean Bernard, Don and Sharon Bernard and Clifton Bernard; grandchildren Chris and Shawna Lounsbury, Rebecca Lounsbury, Terry and Bill Hendricks, Sandy Green and Gordon Hopper, Ron Weber, Norma Reeves, and Eva Eberhardt; great-grandchildren are Jonea Hendricks, Will Hendricks, Bobby Reeves, Ashley Reeves, Garrett Reeves, Sarah Reeves and Tiffany Reeves; and beloved niece, Juanita and Noah Terrell.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Velma, his parents, loving stepfather Charles Bernard, four brothers, one son, and one grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or Cancer Relay for Life.
