ENID — Graveside service for Marilyn J. Belcher, 83, of Enid, will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, in Memorial Park Cemetery . The Rev. Jim Edmison will officiate. Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home has been entrusted with the service.

Marilyn died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at her home. She was born the oldest of four on June 14, 1927, in Ponca City, Okla., to the late Joseph and Nellie King Cooper .

She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1945.

Marilyn married Herbert Walsh. He preceded her in death in 1951.

On April 11, 1953, she married Page Belcher Jr. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

Marilyn was employed by Continental Oil Co. in Ponca City, Champion Oil in Enid and was a Garfield County Election official. She was a longtime member of Delta Child Study Club and First United Methodist Church of Enid.

Her greatest joy came from caring for her family. Marilyn was a loving, patient and fun parent to her children. Marilyn enjoyed traveling with Page and visited many parts of the world. She especially loved Dubrovnik, Prague, Venice and Greece.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Page, of the home; five children, Terry Belcher of Enid, Janice Geier of San Anselmo, Calif., Susan Asbell and husband Steve of Tacoma, Wash., Philip Belcher and wife Kendell of Edmond and Page Belcher III and wife Ina of Jay; nine grandchildren, Tom and Jack Geier, Katie and Grant Belcher, Laura, Elizabeth and Caroline Asbell and Lindsey and Hanna Belcher. She also is survived by sister, Lavonne Scovill of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, Dick Hughes of Tucson, Ariz.; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Cooper , and a sister, Joan (Jody) Hughes.

Memorial may be made to OMRF Alzheimer's division with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodians of the fund.
