OBITUARY

The funeral for Daniel F. Begbie Sr., 68, of Jones, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 12, 1939, in St. Johnsbury, Vt., to Francis J. and Ethel M. Buck Begbie and died Saturday, April 7, 2007, in Baptist Medical Center.

He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1957. He married Gloria Riff March 22, 1961. He served in the Air Force from 1958 to 1966. He operated the radio code in reconnaissance planes during the Vietnam War. He worked for George E. Failing from 1974 to 1986. He worked as a program analyst for Kerr-McGee, retiring in 1995. He was a system program analyst for American Fidelity from 1995 to 2007. He attended Cathedral of the Hill Assembly of God in Edmond.

Surviving are his wife Gloria, of the home; one son, Daniel F. Begbie Jr. of Edmond; one daughter, Cheryl Glaser of Drummond; his father, Francis J. Begbie of Woodsville, Vt.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Gloria Ann Begbie, 72, Drummond, will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor Ron McCasslin officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Gloria was born on June 10, 1939 in North Stratford, New Hampshire, the daughter of Charles Watkins and Ruby Elnora Holloway Riff, and passed away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2012 in Oklahoma City. She was raised in North Stratford until moving to Saint Johnsbury, Vermont where she graduated high school.

Gloria married Daniel Begbie on March 22, 1959. He passed on April 7, 2007.

Gloria moved to Drummond in 2010. She was a member of the Cathedral of The Hills Church in Edmond; was a vocalist at the VA for Veterans, singing sisters of the Fire Flys, and had a passion for her Siamese cats, both in Show and Breeding and also her horses.

Those who survive Gloria are, mother, Ruby Riff of Blackwell; son, Daniel F. Begbie, Jr. of Edmond; daughter, Cheryl Glaser of Drummond; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Herbert Riff of Blackwell, Charles Riff of Plainview, Indiana; sister, Sharon Haynes of Blackwell.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her father, Charles Riff,sister, Carolyn Hicks, and brother, Donald Riff.
