September 9, 1963 - December 27, 2010

A graveside memorial service for Jonathan R. Becker, 47, will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Gay Cocheres officiating. Arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Jon was born Sept. 9, 1963, in Edmond. He graduated from Marist High School in Atlanta and attended Georgia Tech before joining the Army. He served seven years, including a year in Korea, before receiving a medical discharge. Jon was a SGT E-5 and earned several metals. On March 24, 2000, he married Teresa Elizabeth Bloedorn in Enid. He was a volunteer with Randall’s Production, raising money for Enid Police Department. Jon also worked for D.A.R.E. at Oakwood Mall. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die.” John 11:25-26. On Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, the Lord Jesus Christ called John Becker’s name and lovingly led him from this world to the next to live with Him for eternity.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa “Terri”; children, Jonathan Ray Becker of Enid, Shawn Hynes and wife Bonnie of Arkansas, and Christina Slater of Florida; father, Lonnie Becker and stepmother, Debbi of Houston; sister, Darci Schriber of Newport Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kobee, Aydan and Megan; mother-in-law, Rozanne Shade of Enid; and niece, Elizabeth Topper of Georgia.

Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Toni Ciardullo Becker; and grandparents, Olin and Dorothy Becker and Joyce Ciardullo.
