A celebration of the life of Shawn Bean, 42, will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Kelly Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be Monday evening 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Shawn David Bean was born to Stacy and Kathy (Buller) Bean on January 2, 1974, in Enid, and lost a well fought battle with ALS on Friday, June 10, 2016 in Enid.

Shawn graduated from Enid High School. He married Jana Sue Geary on April 16, 1994, and they had one son Haden James Bean. Shawn began his career as a firefighter in May of 1998. Being a firefighter was more than a job, it was his passion. His co-workers were not just co-workers, they were his family, his brothers. He would have run into a burning building for any of them. When his career with the Enid Fire Department ended he was a driver. On his days off, he worked for his father, Gene Williams, doing heating and air conditioning repair and installation. Everyone that knew him knew that if they needed anything he would be there in an instant. Shawn was always busy working on something, or just tearing it apart to have something to do. Shawn was a true fighter through the end, and he will be terribly missed by all who knew him.

Shawn is survived by his wife Jana of the home; mother Kathy Arnold and husband Kendall of Lahoma; father Stacy Bean and wife Joyce; father Gene Williams; brothers Ryan Bean and wife Stephanie, Tanner Bean and wife Nallely, and Dusty Williams all of Enid; aunt Cindy Stewart and husband Mike of Canyon, Texas; uncle David Hoffman of Dumas, Texas; cousins Dustin Hoffman and wife Melinda, Derek Hoffman and wife Carrie all of Canyon, Texas; many nieces, nephews, and so many friends.

Shawn was preceded in death by his son Haden Bean on September 16, 2015, and his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund or Cadet Lawman.
