Marie [Phares] Batson
January 6, 1897 ~ November 1, 1971


Mrs Frank [Marie] Batson, 74, 401 S. 19th, died early Monday morning after entering a local hospital one week earlier.

Born in Kremlin, she had lived her entire life in the Enid - Kremlin area.

She and Frank Batson were married August 14, 1921, at Enid.

Mrs Batson was a member of the Davis Park Christian Church and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary of Wichita, Kansas.

Her survivors are her husband of the home; one daughter, Mrs Leslie [Cora Alice] Daugherty, Hayward, California; three sons, Clarence L., Wichita, and Dale E. And Raymond E., both of Enid; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs W. I. [Mae] Batchelder and Mrs L. J. [Letha] Demere, both of Enid, and Mrs Nina Gooch, Mountain Home, Idaho; and two brothers, Maple and Phares, both of Enid.

Her funeral service was in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dale E. Batson
January 18, 1924 ~ September 26, 2006


Viewing and visitation for Dale E. Batson, 82, of Enid, will be today and Thursday with cremation to follow. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born January 18, 1924, in Enid to Frank and Marie Phares Batson and died Monday, September 25, 2006, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

He married Betty B. Johnson March 17, 1945, in Garber.

He served in the Air Force during World War II in China, Burma, India, Germany, France, Italy and England, flying 96 missions. Following his honorable discharge he joined the Oklahoma National Guard stationed in Enid.

He worked at Champlin Refinery for 24 years.

Surviving are his wife Betty, of the home; three sons, Robert Dale Batson and Gerald Raymond Batson, both of Enid, and James Edward Batson of Ponca City; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to The Commons at The Methodist Home of Enid.
