Laila [Direksen] Bateman
August 29, 1937 ~ September 2021


Funeral services for Laila Bateman will be Friday, September 24, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in Anderson-Burris Chapel, with Dr Bob Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family present will be Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00.

Laila was born on August 29, 1937, in Enid to Clarence and Anna Simmering Dierksen and died on September 19, 2021, in Oklahoma City.

Laila grew up in Drummond and graduated from Drummond High School in 1955. She then graduated from Oklahoma A&M.

Laila worked for many years for Southwest Bell Telephone Company before her retirement. She married Ronald Bateman, and they had one son, Mark.

Laila was preceded in death by her parents and son, Mark.

She is survived by her brother, Ruey Dierksen; nephew and wife, Dustin and Sabrina Dierksen; great-nephew and niece, Cole and Presley Dierksen; several close friends.

Ronald D. Bateman
March 25, 1938 ~ June 28, 2012


Graveside services for Ronald D. Bateman, 74, of Oklahoma City, OK, formerly of Enid, OK, will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev Jim Edmison officiating.

Services are under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, Enid.

Ron passed away suddenly on June 28, 2012, in Tulsa, OK.

Ron was born March 25, 1938, in Oklahoma City, the son of William and Irene England Bateman.

He was a 1956 graduate of Enid High School.

Ron was a veteran of the United States Army.

Ron was united in marriage to Laila Dierksen in 1960 in Enid.

He was employed by OGE in the engineering department 37 years, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of The American Legion.

He enjoyed fishing for stripers at Lake Texoma and "Big Reds" along the Texas Gulf Coast. For many years, he was also an avid trivia player.

Survivors include the love of his life, Sharon Humes, of the home; son, Mark Bateman of Tulsa, OK; sister, Leeann Goodman and her husband Joe of Mississippi; five step grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; his mother; stepfather, Irene and Loyd Benefiel; and a sister, Betty Steffen LaFaver.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund.

Mark W. Bateman
October 23, 1961 ~ November 29, 2012


The funeral for Mark W. Bateman, age 51, of Tulsa, formerly of Enid, will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr Robert Courtney officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mark was born to Ronald and Laila [Dierksen] Bateman on October 23, 1961, in Enid, and passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012, in Tulsa.

He graduated from Chisholm Schools, and then graduated from O.S.U. with an engineering degree. He worked at Gatesway in Tulsa.

Mark is survived by his mother Laila Bateman of Enid, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Bateman in July this year.

Memorials are to Hillsdale Bible Church or Enid S.P.C.A.
