The funeral for Zona D. Black Barney, 92, Enid, will be at 2 PM Tuesday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gary Holderman of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born August 1, 1902, north of Gotebo to Charlie Ransom and Polly Ann Stephens Burton and died Saturday, March 25, 1995, at the Hennessy Care Center after a short illness. She graduated from the Common School at Cloud Chief. On August 1, 1919, she married Jesse James Black in Cordell. He preceded her in death in 1964. She married Donald A. Barney and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Pospisil of Bison; a son, James Wayne Black of Ponca City, two sisters, Zenith Barenne of Oklahoma City and Mary Heler of Laverne, California; one brother, Luther Burton of Texas; six grandchildren, three great – grandchildren and four great – great – granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by three sisters.
