William Wesley Barnes

The funeral for William Wesley Barnes, 80, who died Saturday night at his home, 2601 E. Oak, after a period of ill health, will be at 2 PM Tuesday in Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Carl Stokesberry will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Barnes was born May 23, 1904, at Columbus, Kansas, and had been a resident of Enid since 1921. He and Effie Graves were married in 1937 at Cherokee. He was employed at Rainey – Davis Wholesale Grocery as a stock clerk for 30 years prior to his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Effie; two brothers, H. B. Barnes, Oklahoma City, and Frank Barnes, Enid; five sisters, Roberta Morris and Judy Hopper both of Oklahoma City, Alberta Haines, Ida Hale and Rosetta Newton, all of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

The family will be at the home of Kenneth Barnes, 2613 N. 5th.
