ENID, Okla. - Funeral service for Sam Barnes, 82, of Yukon, Okla., formerly of Enid, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Barrick officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with family will be 6-7:30 p.m. today, May 20, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Sam was born to Lester and Florence (Elkins) Barnes on Aug. 28, 1931, in Enid, and passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Oklahoma City.

Sam grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School.

He married Sammie Fennel and they had three children.

Sam worked for Northrup at Vance AFB for over 37 years until his retirement. He was a minister with the Pentecostal Evangelistic Association. Sam owned and operated a cleaning service for businesses and offices. He was also a courtesy driver for Stevens Ford.

Sam is survived by son, Marty Barnes and wife Becky of Yukon; daughter, Joni Johnson and husband Del of Oologah; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Barnes, and two sisters, Roberta Coffey and Virginia Anderson.

Memorials may be made to OMRF, cancer division.
