Funeral service for Virgil Ballard will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Stittsworth Memory Chapel, with Pastor Alvin Dalton officiating.

Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors. Virgil was born June 13, 1944, in Berryville, Ark., to Virgil Scott and Ervil Georgia Ballard and passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at home with his wife Michelle by his side. At the age of 4, his family moved to Enid. He attended Enid schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1962. Virgil owned and operated Ballard Plumbing from 1968 to 2008.

He met and married the love of his life, Michelle Weber after a short courtship of only 10 days. They married June 17, 1978.

Virgil and Michelle bought the Turf Bar in 1999, and still own it.

Virgil loved to be with people, shoot pool, watch football and play golf.

Virgil is survived by his wife of 35 years, Michelle; daughters, Melanie and Jim Mayhall of Enid, and Sondra and Mike Diel of Breckinridge, Okla.; granddaughters, Kayla and Kassidy Diel; sisters, Loretta Musick, and Connie and husband David Duffy; brother, Dennis “Dink” Ballars and wife Chris; and sister-in-law, Linda Allison, all of Enid; many nieces, nephews, loved ones; and his dogs, Max and Buddy.

Virgil was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, David Ballard; and brother-in-law, Tennis Musick.

Virgil loved his girls, Melanie, Sondra, Kayla and Kassidy with all his heart!
