Funeral services for Lana Faith Ballard, 84-year-old Enid resident, will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Gordon Jantz officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the care of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Lana was born March 8, 1933 in Carl Junction, Missouri to Clarence Ray and Elsie Mae (McBee) Lee and passed away December 28, 2017 in Enid. Growing up, Lana worked for her parents in several grocery stores in the Carl Junction, Joplin and Neosho, Missouri area. Over the years, she eventually took over as owner and operator. She earned her associate's degree in business management in California.

On January 21, 1977, Lana married Jerry Ballard, Sr. in Miami, Oklahoma. Jerry was a manager for Wal-Mart so, together, they lived in various places. She remained in the retail business until she and Jerry retired in 1991. Lana was a member of North Garland Road Church of Christ where she taught children's and ladies' Bible classes as well as volunteered for the Food Pantry. She also enjoyed volunteering and going to Market for the St. Mary's Gift Shop. Her volunteering led her to become a part of the Church of Christ Sojourner Missionary Group where she made several missions to Mexico, the Philippines, South Texas and the Church of Christ School in Neosho, Missouri. Lana's enjoyments included sewing, arts and crafts and traveling to visit her grandchildren but her passion was to be a determined follower of Christ. She built a foundation of Christ for, with, and through her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents; three brothers; two sisters and a stepson.

Lana is survived by three daughters, Deborah Garoutte of Enid; Judy Tucker and husband, Clifton of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Linda Edmondson and husband, Terry of Fairmont; stepson, Jerry Ballard, Jr. of Columbia, Tennessee; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews as well as lifelong friends, Jan Meadows and Brenda Crawford.

Memorials can be given through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home to North Garland Road Church of Christ Food Pantry.
