William Baker, 65, died Sunday afternoon in a local hospital after an illness of only a few hours.

A native of Republic County, Kansas, Baker came to Oklahoma in 1950 and has lived here since.

He was connected with Union Equity and Grain Company and worked part-time for a local grocery until this May. Since then he was with the First National Bank and Trust Company.

Baker was a member of the Maine Nazarene Church.

He is survived by his widow Vella of the home, 1410 E. Elm; three daughters, Mrs. Chloella Buller, Enid, Mrs. Ron (Mona) Dorchester, Bethany, and Sarah Alice Baker of the home; two sons, William C. Baker of Enid and Jerry D. Baker of Stillwater; a brother, Marion Baker, Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 PM in the Maine Nazarene Church with Rev. Orville Firestone officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bill Hale, Henry Gunsalves, Melvin Hutchison, Donald A. Black, Harold Lance and Ivan Yount.
