Celebration of Life Service, Friday, January 14, 2022 at 3:00 pm in Enid First Church of Nazarene. Burial follows in Memorial Park. Due to Covid, masks are recommended. Arrangements by Anderson-Burris. www.andersonburris.com

Celebration of Life service for Jo Ann Burpo will be 3:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2022, in Enid First Nazarene Church with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Due to Covid, wearing a mask is appreciated.

Jo Ann was born November 16, 1926, in Enid Oklahoma, and was called home into the arms of Jesus, January 10, 2022. Her parents were Chester W. and Anna Jo (Schroeder) Martin.

She attended Enid schools, graduating from Enid High School in 1945. Jo Ann attended Central Christian College, McPherson, Kansas briefly before beginning work at George E. Failing, where she met the love of her life, J.H. Burpo. They were united in marriage July 3, 1947 in Enid and were married for 54 years.

Jo Ann was a stay at home mom for several years and then began working for U.S. Representative John "Happy" Camp and retired from NORCE, where she was a supply clerk. Following retirement, she served as church secretary, volunteering at her church and Integris hospital and delivering meals on wheels. She and J. H. enjoyed many years of traveling with friends.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, J.H.; son-in-law, Dennis Urban; granddaughter, Andrea Summer Urban; parents; sister, Josephine; brother Dr. William L. Martin.

She is survived by her children, Alan and wife Cheryl Burpo of Enid, and Jolayne Urban of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Enid First Nazarene Church.
