The services celebrating and honoring the life of Nelda Joy (Swing) Burchardt, 84, of Enid, will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Nelda was born May 29, 1938, to Edd and Goldie Burnham Swing in Elk City, Oklahoma, and passed from this life February 4, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma. She was raised and educated in Elk City, attending Elk City High School. She married Paul Burchardt in February 1959. The couple lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas and in 1982 made their home back in Enid. She raised her children and was a homemaker. She volunteered as a Foster Grandmother at Chisholm Grade school for three years and loved every minute of it.

She was a long-time member of World Harvest Church. She loved to collect many things, especially Precious Moments figurines. Traveling to Carthage, Missouri, to visit the Precious Moments Chapel brought her great joy. She was famous for her delicious "Pink Stuff" dessert salad.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Osborn and husband Bob, of Enid; sister, Darla Perry, of New Braunfels, Texas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Burchardt; her parents, Edd and Goldie Swing; one brother, Leon Swing; sister, Kay Swing Benson; and a son, Scott Burchardt.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Greenbriar Village and Hospice Circle of Love.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Hospice Circle of Love, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family online at www.Brown-Cummings.com.
