June 6, 1927 - August 30, 2023

A Celebration of Life for Emma Lee "Emmie" Brown, age 96, of Ada, Oklahoma, formerly of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2023, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Emmie was born June 6, 1927, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Roy and Mable (Morris) Day, and passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in Ada.

She married Jerry Brown on June 15, 1946, at her parent's home in Enid, along with her brother, William "Bill" Day, and fiance, Wilmette, in a double wedding. Emmie attended Enid Beauty College and worked as a hairdresser while putting Jerry through college. She and Jerry attended Central Christian Church and were members of the Sooner Sunday School Class. Emmie enjoyed many different hobbies, from playing golf, riding motorcycles, snow skiing, and watering skiing, as well as traveling the country in their motor home. Later in her life, Emmie took up china painting and making porcelain dolls. She made many different and beautiful treasures for her family.

Emmie is preceded in death by husband, Dr. Gerald Brown; a daughter, Debra Diane Jantz; brother, Dr. William Day; and sister-in-law, Wilmette Day. She is survived by two children, Jeralee McNeal and husband Roger, of Ada, OK, and son Kevin Brown and wife Leslie, of Blackwell, OK; five grandchildren, Paul Litson, Jonathan Litson, Jennifer Moore, Jordan Brown and wife Kristin, and Taylor Brown and wife Jessica; and ten great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Emmie's name may be made to Choice Hospice, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of funds.
