September 29, 1937 - June 8, 2022

A Celebration of Life for Lonna Bea Blackburn, age 84, of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Clayton Stevicks officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 13th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Lonna was born September 29, 1937, in Garber, OK, to Alonzo and Beatrice (Bowen) Forbes, and passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Enid.

Lonna attended Garber High School where she was very active in sports. She played basketball and participated in track, played in the band and was a drum majorette and cheerleader. Following graduation in 1956, she attended Enid Business College. Lonna worked at Ruth's Christian Bookstore for many years where she loved talking to people and sharing her love of the Lord.

She met her husband Lewis while working at Ruth's in Oakwood Mall where he would walk with his friends. They were married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2012, at Liberty Southern Baptist Church in Enid. She and Lewis enjoyed traveling, making 27 bus and vehicle trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Mesa, Arizona, Jackson Hole, Wyoming; as well as five steam engine trips in Taos, New Mexico; and many other wonderful trips. Their last trip was a Southern Comfort bus trip to South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana. Lonna attended Hallmark Baptist Church, and while serving the Lord she went on mission trips to Mexico and two trips to Israel.


Lonna is survived by her husband Lewis Blackburn, of the home in Enid; daughter Tammy Evans, of Enid; granddaughter, Rachael Evans, of Enid; great-grandson, Case Crawford; four step-children, Anthony Blackburn and wife Stephanie, of Enid, Scottie Blackburn and wife Lessley, of Pond Creek, Wade Blackburn and wife Jeanea, of Cushing, OK, Rose Ann Akerman and husband Bobby, of Choteau, OK; 12 step-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Loretta Mills, of Mesa, AZ; first husband, Edward Harman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Jean Neal.

Memorial contributions in Lonna's name may be made to Hallmark Baptist Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
