Robert Lee Barnes
March 30, 1930 - June 11, 2010

Robert "Bob" Lee Barnes was born March 30, 1930, in Enid to W.J. Barnes Sr. and Anna Lave Furhmaster Barnes. He departed this life Friday, June 11, 2010, after a 14-year battle with cancer.

In 1947, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Mary Louise Poteet, in Perry, Okla. They were partners and best friends for 62 precious years. Bob worked for Champlin Oil Co. for 21 years and in 1970 he began his lifelong adventure as a Sonic Industries investor. He was successful fry cook (burger flipper) and passed that skill on to his children and his grandchildren.

One of Bob's favorite pastimes was playing golf with his buddies. He didn't care where he was playing as long as he got to keep score. He also loved to go boating and fishing with Mary and the grandkids. One of Bob's favorite pastimes was playing golf with his buddies. He was an awesome husband, dad, grandpa (Papa), son, uncle, cousin, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his baby daughter, Judy Kay; his parents; and his brother, W.J. Barnes Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the Enid home; son, Robert "Bobby" C.
