Burial will be under the direction of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Billie Taylor was born March 20, 1902 at Ingersoll. She moved to Enid, and on June 16, 1921, married Ivan Douglas Arnold. Mrs Arnold was employed by D. D. D. Roberts and Dr W. P. Neilson. She had also been employed at the Medical Arts Building until 1964. She was also predeceased by two brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Dean [Pat] Boles, Montrose, Colorado, and Mrs Walter [Betty Scheffe, Enid; three grandchildren, Robert M. Denny, Plano, Texas; Judy Walls, Frisco, Texas; David Boles, Montrose, Colorado; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs Maxine Asplund, Enid. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday in Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Paul J. Enabnit Sr, minister of Davis Park Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs Arnold was born June 24, 1908, on a farm between Kremlin and Hunter. She attended schools in Hunter and at Enid, and on June 9, 1929, married Perry Arnold in Enid, where they had since lived. She worked in Emerson junior high school cafeteria during the 1940s, and was a member of Davis Park Christian Church. She was a former member of AFL-CIO Local Chapter No. 5 220 Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Perry; one daughter, Mrs Otis [Erline] McCormick, Enid; one son, Wade Arnold, Beaumont, Texas; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Mrs Vinita Marlow, Portland, Oregon; and one brother, Lyle Blake, southeast of Enid. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. The family has designated the Salvation Army as a suitable memorial with the funeral home serving as custodian. |

She attended Enid schools and on May 16, 1932, she married Sylvester Arnold in Enid, when they made their home. During World War II she worked as a welder in the Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond, California. They returned to Enid in 1944. She was a member of the Church of God. She is survived by her husband, Sylvester, of the home; two daughters, Shirley Burk of Oklahoma City, Norma Johnson of Marlow; two sons, Sam Arnold of Reeds Spring, Missouri, Lester Arnold of Enid; one sister, Zula Pellow of Enid; four brothers, Sam and Dee Chrisman, both of Enid, L. D. Chrisman of Nowata, Bill Chrisman of Lawrence, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers. Arnold on September 2, 1961, and he died in August 1983. She worked 17 years at Armour Creameries, seven years at Emrick Transfer, 12 years for Sanford-Stunkle Drug Store and 10 years for Belltone Hearing Aid. She retired in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Buster [Eunice] Barnes of Enid and Ruth Bradley of Dayton, Ohio; a son, Harold Hays of Amarillo, Texas; two step sons, Oscar Stanley Arnold of Enid and W. A. She was born at Tahlequah and came to Enid in 1927 with her parents, Samuel and Margaret Benge. She attended Enid schools and was married here to Bill Arnold in 1937. Her husband died in 1965. Mrs Arnold was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Arnold of Ephrata, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Anna Lee [Mrs Darrel], Enid, Mrs. Billie Coleman, Tulsa and Joyce [Mrs R. Leland married Doris Jean Morris on November 30, 1952 in Enid, OK. He served in the National Guard with the 45th Artillery Army and Air Force during the Korean Conflict retiring after 25 years. He worked as a shop foreman for George E. Failing retiring after 30 years. He was a member of Willow Road Christian Church. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Cleona Margaret [Watson] Arnold was born on March 20, 1932 on her parents farm six miles south of Woodward, Oklahoma to Wilber Frank and Eithel Margaret [Loomis] Watson. As a child Cleona and her family moved to a farm near Sharon. She attended Sharon Public Schools and graduated from Sharon High School with the class of 1950. Cleona was united in marriage to Eugene Mason on May 28, 1952 and they made their home in the Sharon area, until Eugene enlisted in the United States Army. Cleona was united in marriage to Bill Arnold on January 20, 1961. Cleona worked most of her life as a waitress in various restaurants in Woodward. After retiring she became a foster grandparent for the Enid Head Start program. She was an active member of the Enid First Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Enid Chapter. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, and working word puzzles. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family. Her grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life. Cleona is survived by her children, Debi Denney and husband Mike, Cindy Turner and husband Randy all of Sharon; Bill "Bud" Arnold and wife Evelyn of Ringwood; Tresa Gray and husband Sherman of Buffalo, Wyoming; Aaron Arnold and Lea Smith of Laverne; 20 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Estle and husband Dean; Virginia Ham and husband Gary all of Sharon; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Leona and Donna, two brothers, Marion, and Ray Watson, and one grandson, Dustin Arnold. Bud attended Enid Public Schools, graduating from Enid High in 1964. Bud attended Phillips University, Oklahoma State University and The University of Oklahoma, graduating with a PHD in Psychology. Bud met the love of his life, Shirley Christine DeVore, at the age of 13. Bud and Chris were joined in marriage September 2nd, 1967, and have been married 53 wonderful years. To this union, they were blessed with two children: Joceline and Wade Arnold. Bud and Chris returned to Enid in 1972 where Bud joined the practice of Dr Frank Adelman, working as a clinical psychologist and counselor. Bud was an adjunct professor at Phillips University during the early years of his career, later opening his own practice, Counseling Associates. Bud had a passion for helping others, demonstrating this by practicing for 48 years. Even in retirement Bud was seeing patients. Bud truly loved family and his profession. Bud was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and spend time outside. Bud learned to hunt from his father and passed this passion on to his own son and grandchildren. Bud was a Master Gardener; he also loved reading about history and learning new things on a variety of topics. Bud studied life, the world around him and people. Bud was active in Central Christian Church, recently serving as Board Moderator. Bud was also an active Rotary member, serving on numerous committees and fundraisers. Bud is survived by his wife Christine; daughter Joceline; son Wade and wife Christina; grandchildren: Sage, Emily, Logan, Tyson and Wade Jr Bud is also survived by his sister Penny Bishop and nephew Alex White. He served two years in the U S Army Air Force overseas. In January 1961 he married Cleona Watson. They lived in Woodward and Sharon until moving to Enid in 1973. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post I; the American Legion and the First Church of the Nazarene. He was employed by Enid Memorial Hospital, then Enid Regional Hospital as director of maintenance and housekeeping. He began work at Integris Bass Baptist Pavilion in maintenance in 1996. On December 15, 1985, he married Cheryl Reames at First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Christ United Methodist and was active in Boy Scouts and Little League. Enid, Oklahoma March 2017 June 12, 1945 ~ March 8, 2017 David Edward Arnold was born to Benjamin Arnold and Opal Robertson on June 12, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away March 8, 2017. David lived most of his life in Enid. He married Deborah Sue Easterly on December 28, 1990 at the First Church of the Nazarene. David loved to fish, read the newspaper from the front to the back page, listen to the police radio, and word searches. He loved Enid and could tell you most of the streets and what businesses were located on the street. David is survived by his brother Alfred Arnold, sister-in-law Mildred Jones, brother-in-laws Gene Easterly, Eddie and wife Sondra Easterly, Richard and wife Rebecca Easterly, nieces Brandi Sharp, Heather Dodd, Brittany Lay, Stephanie Easterly, Beverly Jasuta; nephews Chris Easterly, Dale Jones; great nieces, Taylor and Baylee Sharp, Wendy Simons; great nephew Cary Blakenship. He is preceded in death by his wife Debbie, parents Benjamin and Opal, brothers James Jones, Frank Arnold, and his sister Lorene Nunley. © Enid Morning News Enid, Oklahoma August 1994 September 17, 1964 ~ August 9, 1994 Funeral services for Michael "Bear" E. Arnold, age 29, of Drummond, will be held at 2 PM Friday, August 12, 1994 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Rev Earl Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Bear was born on September 17, 1964 in Enid to Brian and Freddie Mae Prigil Arnold and died on August 9, 1994 in Enid. He attended Coolidge grade school, Carrier junior high school and Chisholm high school. Bear began working for the City of Enid on August 20, 1984 in utility maintenance and was transferred to vehicle maintenance, working there from April 16, 1990 to the present. Bear never met a person he could call a stranger. Everyone was his friend. He never met anyone he didn't like. He had so many friends. Bear was always the person everyone could count on to be there. He was known for helping others when he wouldn't ask for himself. Everyone who knew him will miss this truly great guy. Surviving Bear are his mother and step father, Freddie Mae Arnold and Rule Webster of Enid; his father and stepmother, Marian and Sue Arnold of Enid; one brother, Kendall Arnold of Enid; two half brothers: Alvin Grantz Jr. of Oklahoma City and Fred Grantz of Enid; one step brother, Kelly Webster of Enid; three step sisters, Shelly Webster Krause and Cary Webster Cross, both of Okeene, and Alicia Campbell Lagan of Enid; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Hilda Prigil of Enid; four nephews; one niece; several aunts and uncles; and special friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Emery and Virginia Arnold. Memorials may be made to the Mike Arnold Memorial Fund with the funeral home serving as custodians. The family will be at 2018 N. third in the Enid. |
