Jim Anderson
July 6, 1892 ~ October 19, 1972


Jim Anderson 84, of 1116 East Park died in a local nursing home Thursday following a period of ill health.

He was born July 7, 1888 in Illinois. He had lived in Enid for 43 years, coming from El Reno. He was employed by Champlin Refinery for many years, retiring several years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Anderson, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin [ Maybelle] LeFever, Colorado Springs, CO; one son, Buddy Anderson of Enid; amd one granddaughter, Cindy Anderson.

A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel and burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

John Dale Anderson
March 15, 1900 ~ May 8, 1972


John D. Anderson, 72, 325 N. 10th, died unexpectedly Monday morning in a local hospital following an apparent heart attack.

Born March 15, 1900, in Crisfield, Kansas, he attended schools at Anthony, Kansas, and then moved with his parents to Enid in 1917.

He married the former Margaret Bergner in Medford.

He was a tire vulcanizer and worked for Becker Tire before retiring in 1963.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; one son, Richard T. Anderson, Enid; two daughters, Mrs James [Rose Marie] Kelly, Fulton, Missouri, and Mrs Walter [Zelma] Clod, Italy; 10 grandchildren, two brothers, Fred Anderson, Los Angeles, California, and Clare Anderson, Enid; and one sister, Mrs Zelma DeFeo, Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev Leslie G. Everitt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state until 9 AM Wednesday at the funeral home and the casket will not be open at the church.

Opal Irene Anderson
July 19, 1900 ~ June 30, 1994


Funeral services for Opal Irene Anderson, 93 of Enid will be 2 PM Tuesday in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Ralph Cannon officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born July 19, 1900 to Magnolia [Cannon] and John Bradley Neal in a sod house on property claimed during the land run of 1893 six miles south of Helena in Oklahoma Territory.

In 1911 to 1917 Opal and her brother and sister went to live at the I00F Children's Home in Carmen after the death of their mother.

Opal graduated from Enid high in 1918 and attended Enid Business College.

She married Robert Glen Anderson on June 12, 1921 in Enid, and he preceded her in death in July 1968.

Opal was the last living charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary Argonne Unit #4 of Enid and was active for 73 years before health prevented further activities.

She was a member of Eastern Star Neal Chapter #453, the Rebecca Lodge, and the First Presbyterian Church of Enid.

Opal worked for Rhinehart Plumbing, later Craig and Pierce Plumbing before retiring in 1961.

Opal is survived by a daughter, Glenna L. Stoner, Enid, a granddaughter, Mrs James [Sandra] Hanson, Waukomis, step granddaughter Nancy [Anderson] Richards, Austin, Texas, six great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, a sister Wynona Springer, Glendale, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, a son Richard T. Anderson, infant brother Vester Daryl Neal, brother Clifford T. Neal, a step son Max Anderson and a son–in–law Lee A. Stoner.

Mildred M. [Sharp] Anderson
November 10, 1901 ~ May 7, 1983


Services for Mrs. Earl [Mildred] Anderson will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church with Dr William B. Oden and the Rev Arnold Roberts officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anderson, 1518 Vinita, died early Saturday morning in a local hospital following a brief period of ill health.

She began teaching school in North Enid and later taught in the Enid system having taught at Garfield, Harrison, and Jefferson elementary schools.

Born at Coffeyville, Kansas, she moved to Oklahoma as a young girl living in Enid. She was reared here and attended Enid schools., Later attending Phillips University.

The former Mildred Giltner, she married Earl Anderson in Oklahoma City on September 4, 1927, and they established their home in Enid. She had continued to make her home here while her husband owned and operated the A & A Grocery.

Mrs Anderson was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where she was involved with the women's work of the church.

She was a member of chapter DB, PEO and an Altrurian.

Survivors include her husband, Earl of the home; a sister, Ona Mills, Midwest City; two nieces, Jeanne Wilmoth, Santa Barbara, California, and Jeanette Hoehn, Enid; and two nephews, David Giltner, Denver and Merle Phillips, Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl

Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Community Speech and Hearing Center in Enid.

Henninger-Allen will serve as custodian of the fund.br>

Margaret [Bergner] Anderson
May 14, 1902 ~ Febeuary 11, 1993


Graveside service for Margaret B. Anderson, 90, will be at 11 AM Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Maribeth Blackman, Sexton, will officiate. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

She was born May 14, 1902, near Pratt, Kansas, and died Thursday, February 11, 1993, at Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

She had attended rural schools in the Pratt, Kansas, area.

On August 1, 1925 she married John D. Anderson at Medford. They lived in Enid. He died in 1972.

She continued to live in Enid until 1976 when she moved to Fort Walton Beach.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are one son, Richard T. of Enid; two daughters, Zelma Glod of Fort Walton Beach and Rose Marie Kelly of Fulton, Missouri; one brother, the Rev Otto Bergner of Poteau; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

The family will be at 118 S. McKinley.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Kidney Foundation, Alzheimer's Association or the church.

Earl Raymond Anderson
September 2, 1903 ~ July 8, 1993


The funeral for Earl R. Anderson, 89, will be at 2 PM Sunday at First United Methodist Church. Dr Robert B. Montgomery and Tom Sailors Sr will officiate.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

He was born September 2, 1903, on a farm southwest of Pond Creek and died Thursday, July 8, 1993, at his home in Enid.

He had lived in Grant County until 1917 when the family moved to Enid.

He graduated from Enid high school in 1922.

On September 4, 1927, he married Mildred Giltner at Oklahoma City. They lived in Enid where he was partners with Alvin Anderson in owning and operating the A & A grocery from May 1926 through December 1968.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Sooner Class.

He was a charter member of Oakwood Country Club and at the time of his death, held the longest continuous membership of the Enid Rotary Club, 59 years. He served as its president in 1946-1947.

Surviving are two nephews, Merle Phillips of Enid and David Giltner of Denver, Colorado; and one niece, Dr Jeanette Hoehn of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church.

Funeral service for Bernice W. Anderson, age 86, will be Saturday, August 28 at 3 p.m. at Faith Center Fellowship in Meno with Pastor Cody Anderson officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery north of Enid with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc of Helena.

The casket will be open at the funeral home in Helena on Friday from 9 a m until 8 pm, on Saturday 9 am until 11:30 am and at the church before and after the service.

Bernice was born on March 30, 1918 to Milton D. and Lucy "Vail" Mosher at Cleo Springs, Oklahoma and passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2004 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.

Bernice is survived by four children, Mary Lou Rowley of Portales, New Mexico, Gary Anderson and wife, Janice of Ringwood, Don Anderson and wife, Carrol of Ringwood, Kathy Johnson and husband, Larry of Enid and daughter-in-law, Sandy Anderson Cooley and husband, J.C. of Ringwood; thirteen grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Grey; one son, Robert "Bob" Anderson; one son-in-law, Joe Rowley; two grandsons, Monte Anderson and H.O. Scott.

Memorials may be made to Faith Center Fellowship through the funeral home.

Margaret Maxine [McFadden] Anderson

The funeral for Mrs Leon [Margaret] Anderson, 68, 823 W. Maple, will be at 11 AM Wednesday at the First Baptist Church. Dr Eugene Stark will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery directed by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Margaret died Sunday at a local hospital after a short illness.

The former Margaret McFadden graduated from Ringwood High School in 1937.

She also was a lifetime member of the Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans and had worked at Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital since February 1, 1964.

She married Leon V. Anderson in 1940.

Survivors include her husband, Leon; a daughter, Stephanie Powell of Enid; three sons, Victor of Houston, Texas, Gary and Paul, both of Enid; her mother, Thelma Ritter of Okeene; a brother, Jerry Dean McFadden of Okeene; two sisters, Mrs Loyd [Dorothy] Gibson of Enid and the Mrs Ed [Peggy] Bode of Okeene; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers, an infant sister and a granddaughter.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Heart Association.

James Lee Anderson
February 10, 1922 ~ September 22, 1985


James Lee Anderson died early Sunday at his home in Enid after a long illness. Services will be 2 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home. The Rev Steven Spradling will officiate.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars [VFW] Post No 2270 conducting the flag folding ceremony.

Anderson was born in Cherokee to James Lee and Hazel Anderson.

He attended schools in that area, graduating from Cherokee high school.

During World War II, he served in the United States Army Air Corps as a lieutenant in England.

After his discharge from the service, he married Doris Green at Medicine Lodge, Kansas, on February 1, 1947.

Anderson worked in various cities in the United States as a construction accountant, moving to Enid in 1973.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Crusaders Sunday school class, VFW and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; three brothers, Marvin Eugene Anderson, Temple, Texas, Thomas E Anderson, Elk City, and Jack C. Anderson, Nashville, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Memorials in his name may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.

Patricia "Pat" [Phillips] Anderson
March 14, 1937 ~ November 17, 2016


Memorial services honoring the life of Patricia Anderson, 79, of Enid will be held on Monday November 21, 2016, at 2 pm in the Central Christian Church, officiated by Rev Shannon Speidel and Rev Don Johnson. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Pat was born on March 14, 1937, the daughter of Otis and Gertrude Phillips.

She passed away on November 17, 2016.

She was raised and educated in Enid.

In 1954 she was the governor of Oklahoma Girls State and attended Girls Nation.

She graduated from Enid High School in 1955. Pat attended the University of Oklahoma where she was initiated into the the Epsilon Alpha chapter of the Chi Omega sorority. She then transferred to Oklahoma State University, continued her membership in Chi Omega through the Tau Beta chapter and graduated with her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1959.

Pat married Robert E. "Bob" Anderson on January 1, 1958, at Central Christian Church of Enid.

Her career as an educator began in Dallas, Texas. She continued teaching when the couple returned to Enid in 1962. During her career in Enid she taught at Eisenhower, Monroe and Taft elementary schools.

She was an active member in Central Christian Church.

She served as president of Junior Welfare League and originated the name for Stir Ups cookbook. Pat was also a 50-year member of the PEO organization and a member of a local bridge club for more than 20 years.

She was proud of her Oklahoma heritage and enjoyed spending summers in Colorado.

She is survived by Bob, her husband of 58 years, daughter Dr Kim Anderson, and husband, Dr John Summar, of Conifer, Colo.; daughter Dr Angi Carey, and husband, John, of Austin, Texas; and son Sen Patrick Anderson and wife, Kelly, of Enid, Okla. She was most proud of her grandchildren: Stephanie, Andrew, Katlyn, Luke, Anna Grace, Lauren and Miles.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Central Christian Church endowment fund, Foster Feet LLC, or a charity of the donor's choice, with Brown–Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

Robert E. "Bob" Anderson
March 17, 1937 ~ December 4, 2023


A private family graveside service honoring the life of Robert E. "Bob" Anderson, 86, of Enid will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Don Johnson of Central Christian Church officiating. A public celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, a life celebration home.

Bob was born on March 17, 1937, the son of Richard and Mildred Anderson of Garber, Oklahoma. He passed away on December 4, 2023.

He was raised and educated in Garber.

He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Garber High School in 1955.

Bob married Pat Phillips of Enid, graduating with a business degree from Oklahoma State University and they moved to Enid in 1962, where he operated Otis Phillips Printing.

He was a member of Central Christian Church and over the years he was active as a director on several boards and as a member of various civic organizations in the Enid community.

He was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1969 and served for 13 years representing the citizens of Garfield County.

In 1987 Bob was appointed by Governor Henry Bellmon to be the chairman of the Oklahoma Tax Commission, a position he held for 14 years under three governors.

A lifelong wheat and cattle producer, farming kept him active in his later years.

He is survived by his children, Dr Kim Anderson and husband Dr John Summar of Conifer, Colorado, and their children Stephanie, Andrew, and Luke; Dr Angi Carey and husband John of Austin, Texas, and their children Anna Grace and Miles; Sen Patrick Anderson and his wife Kelly of Enid and their daughters Katlyn and Lauren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Don, and his wife Pat.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Foster Feet, to a charity of the donor's choice, or to the Central Christian Church memorial fund with Brown-Cummings funeral home serving as custodians of the funds.

Jimmy Leon Anderson
July 18, 1942 ~ September 19, 2021


The graveside service for Jimmy Leon Anderson, 79 year-old Enid resident, will be 3:00pm Friday, September 24, 2021 in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 pm-7:00 pm Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the funeral home.

The family asks for nothing formal but rather comfortable, casual clothes are preferred for the funeral as that is exactly what Jimmy would say.

Jimmy was born July 18, 1942 in Enid to Charley Rutman and Elzy Ina [Sanderson] Anderson and passed away suddenly at his home in Enid on September 19, 2021.

On August 19, 1959, Jimmy joined the United States Navy. He was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk.

After his honorable discharge, he married Bonnie Thompson on March 19, 1966.

Jimmy worked as a welder at Hackney's for a number of years before joining Thurman's. He continued there for thirty-eight years before retiring in 2013.

Jimmy was a member of DAV and Hennessey Powder and String Club.

He loved his retirement years, as that meant more time fishing but he was also a proud parent, grandparent and great grandparent.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vera Weer and Betty Burger; brother, Clifford Anderson and twin siblings in infancy.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, of the home; children, Brian Anderson and Kristina Anderson, both of Enid; chosen children, Perla Hernandez; Tammy Bowser; Lee Ann Burdg; Lisa O'Neal; Leon Heindrick; grandchildren, Eric; Amara; Marylynn; JJ; Addian; Khrissy Coker; Esthephanie; Fabian; Romando; Amanda; Noni; Nale; great grandchildren, Cody; Alex; Matt; Xavere; brother, Clarence; sisters-in-law, Cindy, Kaye and Deanna; brother-in-law, Dan Weer, nephew, Max Lemmons and wife, Mary as well as numerous extended family.

Memorials in Jimmy's name may be given through the funeral home to Wounded Warriors or Enid Disabled American Veterans

Ringwood - The funeral for Robert L. "Bob" Anderson, 46, who died late Wednesday at Enid Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart attack, will be at 10 AM Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Enid. The Rev Richard Whetsell will officiate.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

He was born March 16, 1943, on a farm northwest of Ringwood.

He graduated from Ringwood high school and attended Central State University, Edmond, and Phillips University.

He married Sandra Kay Ensz on July 26, 1963, in Enid and made their home in Ringwood.

In 1972, he formed a partnership where he was part owner/operator of Fairview Livestock Sale Barn.

He attended Ringwood United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Tami Leigh Anderson of Tulsa; his mother, Bernice Anderson of Ringwood; two brothers, Gary and Donnie, both of Ringwood; and two sisters, Mary Lou Rowley of Portales, New Mexico, and Kathy Johnson of Enid.

Jackie Faye [Hutchison] Anderson
August 27, 1951 ~ June 19, 2020


A Celebration of Life for Jackie Anderson, age 68, of Enid, is 10:00 am Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Oakwood Christian Church, with Rev Joe Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23rd, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Funeral services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jackie was born August 27, 1951, in Enid, OK, to Ted and Leola [Rankin] Hutchison, and passed away Saturday, June 19, 2020, in Enid.

She graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1969.

She met her soulmate, Gary Anderson, and they married February 26, 1971, and would have celebrated their 50th Anniversary next year.

She and Gary established their home in Enid, where they raised their two daughters, Sandy and Michelle.

Jackie worked at Security National Bank downtown and the west branch, collectively for over 47 years. She loved her job; she was dedicated to her customers and the people that she worked with; they were like her second family.

She was a member of the Oklahoma Banker's Association and the Enid Chamber of Commerce.

Jackie was an avid OU fan, she and Gary held season tickets for 42 years and rarely missed a game. She had a passionate love for the Oklahoma City Thunder as well and attended many games.

They also went on many cruises, visiting exotic places such as Jamaica, Panama, St Lucia, St Kitts, St Martins, Alaska and several others. They loved to go to Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO, to go fishing on their boat; shop and see shows. She loved to travel!

She loved watching her four grandchildren grow up; she attended their T-Ball, basketball and football games.

Jackie is preceded in death by her father, Ted Hutchinson.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary Anderson, of Enid; her mother, Leola Hutchison, of Enid; two daughters, Sandy Boeckman and husband Nick, of Okeene, and Michelle Schell and husband Ron, of Winter Garden, FL; four grandchildren, Darrian Schell, Preston Boeckman, Aryana Schell, and Pryce Boeckman; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.

Jackie was diagnosed in late February with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and with support of family and friends, was ready to fight the battle.

The family would prefer memorial contributions in Jackie's name to be made to the OMRF Cancer Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Paul L. Anderson was born July 27, 1952 in Enid to Leon and Margaret Mc Fadden Anderson and died Aug 24, 1988 in Enid.

He is survived by father Leon; 1 sister Stephanie Powell; 2 brothers Victor and Gary; grandmother Thelma Ritter; and fiance Vicki Troutman.

He is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Services for Paul Lee Anderson, 36, who died Wednesday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness, will be at 10:30 AM Saturday the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dr Gene Stark and the Rev John Chamber officiating. Burial will be Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born July 27, 1952, in Enid, he lived all of his life here graduating from Enid High School In 1971.

He was employed by Freeman Equipment Company and for the past year was employed at Sears.

He was a self taught musician and played guitar with several rock and roll bands including Viper, Hyjinx and Phantom Figures.

Survivors include his father Leon Anderson; a sister, Stephanie Powell of Enid; two brothers, Gary of Enid and Victor of Houston; maternal grandmother, Thelma Ritter of Okeene.

He was preceded in death by his mother in January.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Cancer Institute Foundation with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.

Austin Grey Anderson
February 6, 1985 ~ May 12, 2012


Austin G. Anderson, 27, passed away Saturday morning May 12, 2012, at St Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Austin was born on February 6, 1985 to Monte Grey and Mary Frances Anderson.

Austin graduated from Ringwood High School in 2003, where he excelled in football, making the 8-man All-Star Team.

Following graduation he joined the US Marine Reserves and served two tours in Iraq. In 2012 Austin was pinned Staff Sergeant Anderson in Washington D.C. and was later honorably discharged after eight years of dedicated military service.

Austin accomplished a life goal of graduating from Oral Roberts University on May 5, 2012, with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.

Immediately after graduating, Austin began his dream career at Teen Mania Ministries in Tyler, Texas as Head of Operations and Marketing. Austin was a dedicated member of Faith Center Fellowship, the church founded by Austin’s father.

While serving Teen Mania Ministries, Austin's plane went down north of Wichita, Kansas. Austin was one of two survivors of the accident and was able to heroically carry the other survivor from the scene of the accident. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

All who know Austin will forever profess of his inspiration to others to find purpose in life and strive to help all those in need. His favorite movie line quotes, “Every man dies, but not every man truly lives”, and Austin is one of the few that truly lived for each day.

Austin is survived by his fiancé and love of his life Elizabeth Thaxton; his mother Mary Anderson; brother Aubrey James; sister Allie Joy; grandparents Don "Papa" and Carrol Ann "Annie" Anderson; grandmother Edna Parker and husband Neil; and many extended family.

Proceeding in death is Austin’s father Monte Grey Anderson, Uncle H.O. Scott, and Grandfather Don Steidl.

The Celebration Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid.

Memorials are to ORU Veterans Scholarship.
