Osca Cannon "Oscie/Oce" Alexander
September 18, 1894 ~ March 1969


Osca "Oscie or Oce" Cannon Alexander, son of John Gray Alexander and Inez Alamenta Owen; born 18 September 1894, TX; died age 74 on March 1969, Kiowa, Barber Co., Kansas [SSDI]; buried Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, Garfield Co., OK.

Osca married Davida Hazel Forbes December 21, 1919 in Ellis County, Texas and they had 1 child: Virginia Anita Alexander [Hoopman Young] b 26/Jun/1925 in Texas. Virginia's name was changed from Alexander to McEuen [her mother's 2nd husband] as a child.

Osca married Mary Irene and they had four known children:
1-Carolyn Joan Alexander b 21/Oct/1930; d 12/Aug/1939
2-J. C. born 1934
3-James Elbert Alexander, b 23/Jan/1941; d 17/Feb/2007
4-J. A. born 1942

Mary Irene [Jones] Alexander
December 9, 1903 ~ September 27, 1991


Mary Irene Alexander of Enid, 87 years young, formerly of Kiowa, Kansas passed away Friday evening in the Methodist home.

She was born December 9, 1903 in Albertville, Alabama, the daughter of J. Walter and Carolyn [Atwood] Jones. She was married to O. C. Alexander and to this union four children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Joan, and her sister Lillian.

She is survived by three sons and their wives, John and Ruthene Alexander of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jim Alexander of San Antonio, Texas and Jack and Marilyn Alexander of Enid. One great-grandchild Camille Renée Alexander of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters: Mabel Burchfield of Cross Plains, Texas and Georgia Jones of Yucaipa, California.

She was a member of Neal Chapter of Eastern Star and past Worthy Matron and past Pres. of Enid Shriner Ladies Club.

A loving mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all. Friends may contribute to the Enid Shrine Club's Crippled Children's Transportation Fund.

Funeral services for Mrs Alexander will be held in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel at 3 PM Sunday with Charles Divebliss reader First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Dr Lloyd Lambert officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Nona U. [Detrick] Alexander
March 13, 1908 ~ August 9, 1994


The funeral for Nona Alexander, 86, will be at 10 AM Friday at the North Garland Road Church of Christ. The Rev Terry Butler will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born March 13, 1908, near Ames to Martin and Ellen VanMeter Detrick and died Tuesday, August 9, 1994, at the Methodist Nursing Home in Enid.

She completed grade school at Union Center School, north of Ames, and graduated from Ames high school in 1926. She obtained her teacher certificate from Northwestern Oklahoma State Teacher's College, Alva, and taught grades one through eight for two years at Forest Home School, north of Ames.

On June 19, 1929, she married Clinton Alexander. He died in 1977. They farmed in the Ames and Amorita communities for many years before moving to Enid in 1962.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth of Enid; one brother, Fred Detrick of Ames; two sisters, Ruth Rouse of Wichita, Kansas, and Elsie McCracken of Tulsa; one granddaughter; and one great granddaughter.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Bible Chair.
