Celebration of Life Services for Laura Ann Good Knopfel will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 5th at St. John's Lutheran Church, Covington. Burial will be in Marshall North Lions Cemetery, Marshall, under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Laura Ann Good Knopfel was born on February 5, 1943 to Charles and Laura Edith Soderstrom Good and passed on December 29, 2019. She grew up in Chandler, OK, attending school in both Chandler and Davenport, OK. She graduated from Chandler High School in 1961 and then attended Oklahoma State University and completed her bachelor's degree in Home Economics Education in 1965. She was married to Carl Francis Knopfel, Jr. on May 25th, 1968. Ann went on to complete her master's degree from Central State University in 1982. During her teaching career, she taught in Inola, Waukomis, and Covington-Douglas public schools, retiring in 2003. During her teaching career, she taught Home Economics, 2nd grade, Title 1, middle school reading and science classes, choir, pre-k, and accompanied numerous students for both vocal and instrumental music contests. Ann was an active member of her community but is most notably known for her musical skills from serving as a church organist in the Covington community for over 35 years. She has played for church services, weddings, funerals, and 5th Sunday sings- including playing for her last church service only a few hours before her passing.

She is survived by her daughter Carla Ann of Chandler, Jonathon Carl of Bartlesville, sister-in-law Lena Mae Knopfel of Mulhall, OK, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother Charles Oscar Good.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either "Bartlesville Band and Orchestra Boosters in memory of Ann Knopfel", P.O Box 2421, Bartlesville 74005 or to "Oklahoma Grand Assembly of IORG in memory of Ann Knopfel", PO Box 1459, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.
