North I O O F Cemetery


A private family funeral service for Henry Haken , 96, of Marshall, Okla., will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at North Marshall Lions Cemetery. Arrangements are by Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home, Crescent.

He was born Oct. 10, 1912, on the family farm east of Marshall to Gesienus and Kassina Aelkens Haken . The night the family home burned down, Henry was born in the grainery. He was a lifelong resident of Marshall, where he was a farmer and cattleman. At the age of 30, he served in the U.S. Army Artillery Division in Europe from 1942 to 1947.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, George, Dick, Gesienus Jr. and infant Dick Haken ; six sisters, Elizabeth Stroll, Kassina Janzen, Freda Haken , Bessie Ryan, Anna Wagoner and Reka Bass. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Marshall Fire Department and Ambulance.
