Kathryn Elaine Lockridge
ENID — A graveside service for Kathryn Elaine Lockridge, 84, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in Douglas Union Cemetery. Robert Stewart, pastor, will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born Oct. 20, 1924, near Douglas to Frank Robert and Grace Cordia Long Lockridge and died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Greenbrier Nursing Home. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1942. She helped her parents farm until 1952, when she moved to Enid. She worked for a CPA office and tag office. She was secretary for Enid Camp Fire Girls for nine years and a day care worker for Happi-Time nursery for 11 years until 1975.

She was a member of Douglas Christian Union Church and served as cradle roll superintendent, Sunday school secretary and church pianist. She had served as Enid Christian Union Women’s Fellowship secretary and full time pianist. She was a member of Garfield County Genealogist Inc. and Enid Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. In 1992, she received the Golden Leaf Award for Meritorious Achievement at Public Library of Enid and Garfield County.

Surviving are four sisters, Vergaline Neil of Oklahoma City, Margaret Heflin and Carrie Nancy Raulston, both of Dallas, and Berneita Lou Jackson of Houston. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, another brother and one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Christian Union missions or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, heart division.
