Douglas Union Cemetery


Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Mae Kramer, 86, Douglas, will be at 2 PM Thursday in the Christian Union Church of Douglas with Rev. Herschel Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Douglas Cemetery under the direction of the Fossett Funeral Home of Enid.

Mrs. Kramer died late Monday in a local hospital following a lingering illness. She was born in Askidge, Kansas, December 12, 1884, and was married to Nicholas M. Kramer in January, 1903, in Union City. They lived in Union City until moving to Douglas in 1911.

Mrs. Kramer was postmaster at Douglas for 15 years before she retired in May, 1954.

She was a member of the Christian Union Church of Douglas. She was predeceased by her husband in 1966 and by four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include two sons, Clifford Kramer of Douglas and James Kramer, El Dorado, Kansas; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Gilbert, Mrs. Bob (LeeOna) McGill and Mrs. Floyd (Alyce) Fortney, all of Douglas; two sisters, Mrs. Bill Amspacher, Norman and Mrs. Howard Smith, Apache; 10 grandchildren; 10 great – grandchildren.
