Douglas Union Cemetery


Funeral services for Burton A. Burland, Sr., 50, who died Saturday night in a Phoenix, Arizona, hospital of injuries received in an automobile accident, will be at 2 PM Thursday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Joseph I. Stubbs will officiate and burial will be in the Douglas Cemetery.

Burland was born and grew up in Polson, Montana, living there until entering military service in 1939. He was stationed at the Enid Army Flying School and after his discharge in 1945 he moved back to Montana.

In 1963 he returned to Enid where he operated an upholstery business until moving to Casa Grande, Arizona, about three months ago.

He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church. A son Ernie preceded him in death in 1963.

Survivors include three sons, Burton A. Jr. and Roger of Enid, Joe of Douglas; a daughter, Jeanne Burland of Douglas; five grandchildren; six brothers, Frank of Ronan, Montana, Richard and Lloyd, Polson, Montana, Jim of San Francisco, California, Willard, Hot Springs, Montana, and Ken of Kalispel, Montana; a sister, Mrs. Andy (Blanche) Desautel, Cour d'Alene, Idaho.
