Celebration of life service for Joel H. West, 48, Enid, is 1 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017, in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy. Committal prayers and interment were held privately in the Chisholm Trail Burial Park. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

He was born on December 2, 1968, in Olathe, Kansas, the son of Joel Henry West, Jr. and Pearlie Mae Northern, and passed away peacefully on September 12, 2017 in El Reno. Joel graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1987. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy serving in Persian Gulf on the USS Copeland. Joel loved camping, fishing, traveling, and most any thing that took him to God's biggest temple, "The Great Outdoors." He loved his girls, his sisters, and his mom. Family was so very important to him. He was married to Sherry Foxworthy and received two daughters from that union.

Joel is survived by his wife, Traci Montgomery West of Yukon, Oklahoma; daughters, Shelby Laine West of the residence, and Bailey Jo West of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters, Sondra West of Enid, Jessica Doss of Dallas, Texas; special brother, John Young of Arkansas; and Joel's mother, Pearl White of the residence.

Special thanks to Valir Hospice for taking great care to make sure his last wishes were fulfilled.

The family has selected, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made payable to the family so they can decide later how to best remember Joel.

Remembrances may be shared online at www.StittsworthFuneralServices.com.
