The Mass of Christian Burial for William R. “Bill” Wurth will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Rev. James Mikus will officate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a wake service at 7:00 PM Monday evening in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Tony Crispo will lead.

Bill was born February 2, 1920 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Karl and Mary (Hamlin) Wurth and passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016. He attended grade school in Thomas, Oklahoma. His family moved to Enid in 1932 and he graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1940.

He married Clara Pospisil, of carrier, on November 4, 1950. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in 2015. He served in the Army during World war II from 1942 to 1946.

Bill worked for Knox Auto Store for six years then retired from Champlin Petroleum with 31 years of service. After retiring he worked for Liberty Federal for four years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. and the American Legion. For a number of years Bill and his wife, Clara, maintained the grounds at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the entire entryways to the meadows addition.

He is survived by his wife, Clara, many nieces, and nephews and “Special Friends” Tony, Jinnie and Marc Potts of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Henry, John, Joe, Ernest and Lawrence. Sisters Carlene Gerten, Anna Marie McCall, and Margaret Richard.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made through Henninger-Hinson to either Our Daily Bread or St. Joseph’s School.
