Father Frank van Wees
The Rev. Father Frank van Wees, 73, died early Monday morning at his home, 526 West Randolph. His death was unexpected. He had suffered a slight heart attack soon after Easter but had been in the best of health since that time.
He came to the United States in 1910 from Breda, Holland of which place he was a native. Since coming to Oklahoma he has been Pastor at Hobart, Purcell, Norman, Chickasha and Union City, Oklahoma. He came to St. Marys Annex from his pastorate at Union City on Oct. 15, 1946.
Solemn Requiem High Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wed. with Dean Schaubroek as celebrant. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Henninger-Allen funeral home. XXX office for the dead will be recited by the clergy at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and the body will lay in state at the church from 8 until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Calvary cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the members of The Knights of Columbus.
The body is being cared for by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
