HENNESSEY — Mass of Christian Burial for Albert Streck, 81, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Joseph Arledge. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. There will be a visitation with the family 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Albert was born east of Hennessey on June 5, 1932, to Lee Albert and Catherine Roder Streck and died Saturday, Jan., 4, 2014, at Integris Bass Baptist Pavilion in Enid.

Albert married Barbara Melton in Hennessey on July 5, 1957. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany on the Berlin Wall.

Albert owned and operated the Conoco station with his brother Jim for a number of years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a former member of Hennessey Auxiliary Police Department and a past member of Hennessey Celebration Whisker Club.

He was an avid gardener and Atlanta Braves baseball fan, as well as an avid reader. His joy in life was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Albert is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; three sons, Tom Streck and wife Christy of Hennessey, Roy Streck and wife Sissi of Kingfisher, Paul Streck and wife Debi of Edmond; two daughters, Patty Ramsey and husband Luke of Dallas/Fort Worth, Alice Haskins and husband LeRoy of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren, Stacy Schwarz and husband Bryan White, Tyler Streck and wife Frances, Wesley Streck and wife Allison, Brandee Smith and husband Adam, Lexi Streck, Seth Streck, Beau Streck and wife Jessica, Ashlynn Dickinson and husband Taylor, Colton Streck, Riley Streck; three great grandchildren, Gavin Streck, Parker Streck, Harper Streck; two sisters, Margaret Skoda of Waukomis, Pauline and husband Peter Waldburger of Ashville, North Carolina; two sistersin- law, Betty Choate and Sue Smith; one brother-in-law, Troy Melton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jim Streck; and three sisters, Lucille Haymaker, Betty DeMeyer and Jo Anne Kelly.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Friends of the Library, with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
