Recitation of the Rosary for Mary Ann Stowe, 78-year-old Enid resident, will be 7:30 p.m. today, Nov. 26, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian burial is noon Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Rajesh Mankena will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Mary Ann was born June 2, 1935, in Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., to John and Catherine (Samar) Pevarnic and died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She attended school in Upper Michigan and, after graduating from high school, attended Lake Superior State College.

In July 1957, she married Jerry Stowe in Michigan. The couple made their home in Tulsa, Okla., and later settled in Enid in 1973, where Mary Ann worked as the office manager at Enid Property Management for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2005.

She was a long-time member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she was active in the choir and Catholic Daughters. She also volunteered at Our Daily Bread. She was a member of the Foster Grandparents Program, a member of the “Melody Girls,” and a supporter of the Humane Society. She was a music lover and enjoyed singing and playing the violin. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Carey Pribil and husband Brian of Edmond, Okla.; son, Chris Stowe and wife Kathy of Shalimar, Fla.; and sister, Virginia Neal of Sault Sainte Marie, Mich.; four grandsons, Eric and Trent Pribil and David and Jonathan Stowe; and granddaughter, Bonnie Stowe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tony Pevarnic.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to Our Daily Bread.
