Mass of Christian Burial for Jean L. Satterley, 58, of Enid, will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Irwin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jean was born on August 23, 1953 to Joseph Dana and Nellie Mae (Hays) Satterley, in Enid, and passed away on Saturday, May 5, in Enid.

Jean grew up in Enid and graduated from Chisholm High School. After the death of her father, her mom married Robert Whitley, and he became her dad. She was a caregiver for babies to seniors. Jean was very active in Toys For Tots, where she received the commander’s award for outstanding support from Lt. General John F. Kelly USMC, Commander of Marine Corp Reserve. She worked for Direct Care and received the outstanding support staff award from the Governor of Oklahoma. Jean was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Jean is survived by her best friend and partner Martha Cox of Enid; two children Dustin Satterley of Edmond and Marcie Huffman of Enid; father Robert & Linda Whitley of Enid; six brothers Joseph Satterley of Carthage, MO, Michael Satterley, Dennis & Darlene Satterley, Mark & Charlene Satterley, Scott & Tina Whitley, and John Whitley all of Enid; one sister Teresa & Tommy Thompson of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her mother Nellie, her father Joseph, and grandparents Henry and Helen Hays.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Toys for Tots, or Ross Hospice.
