Recitation of the Rosary for Teresa L. Mohney, 86, will be at 7:30 PM Friday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Christian Burial will be at noon Saturday in St. Francis Xavier Church with the Reverends James J Mickus and Burce Matsijara officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
She was born October 9, 1910, in Claflin, Kansas, to John and Teresa Casey Dunn and died Thursday, April 3, 1997, in the Methodist Home.
She was raised and attended school in Claflin. She married Eugene S. Mohney on August 31, 1930, in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Enid in 1946 and opened the Chip – Chat Café at Maine and Independence. She later ran Mode O'Day, a ladies apparel shop before subsequently working for Lambert's for 25 years.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier church and was a member of the Mary Magdalena Study Club.
She is survived by one son, James E. Mohney of Hutchinson, Kansas; one daughter, Jane Mohney Walker of St. Louis, Missouri and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
