ENID — Mass of Christian burial for Charles G. Mixon, 74, will be noon Thursday, July 7, 2011, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Irwin as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Enid, under the direction of Anderson - Burris Funeral Home.

Charles was born July 12, 1936, in Horry County, South Carolina to Charley and Hattie (Brunson) Mixon and died Sunday, July 3, 2011, in Oklahoma City.

He grew up in Baltimore, Md. Charles received his bachelor of science degree in English.

He worked at the Defense Logistics Agency from May 1985 until his retirement in 1995, where he was a personnel manager.

Charles moved to the Philippines in 1995.

On Dec. 14, 1995, he married Adelina Boling Kondo. They made their home in the Philippines until moving to Enid in 2008.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two stepbrothers.

He is survived by his wife, Adelina of the home; children, Caleb James Mixon and Charlotte Mixon, both of the home, Bruce (Margie) Mixon of Washington, Adrian Mixon of Baltimore, Md., Geneane Higgins of Fort Benning, Ga., and Tracey Mixon of Albuquerque, N.M.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Daily Bread.
