July 23, 1931 - October 20, 2020

Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara Mae Meyer, 89 of Enid, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2020, in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tony Crispo presiding.

Barbara was born July 23, 1931, at Great Bend, KS to Dorsey and Opal Fisher Brown and passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Enid. She graduated from Great Bend High School and also attended Ft. Hayes State College.

She and Frank Meyer were married on June 24, 1951 in Great Bend. Barbara owned and operated Town and Country Homes Real Estate Company. She was a freelance writer and did articles on Dillinger. Barbara was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she served on the parish council and was an extraordinary eucharist minister. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed photography. Barbara loved her family and friends. Frank was always excited to come home to see what else she was doing, there was never a dull moment. If you told Barbara that you were to old to do something, she would always say how old will you be if you don’t? She left no stone unturned. Barbara lived her life to the fullest. She was a spitfire. Barbara was hard and soft at the same time. She was our rock, mom and best friend.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank; son Steven; sister Wanda; brother, Dan.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberle Beckett and husband Richard and Susie Cunningham and husband Bill both of Enid, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Judy Webb and Chris Cookson; and many friends.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Enid SPCA.
