Funeral service for Beatrice R. Martinez, 85, of Enid, Okla., will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Rajesh K. Mankena will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Beatrice was born July 9, 1929, in Newton Kan., to Antonio and Avelina (Cortez) Martinez and passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, in Enid.

She attended school in Wichita, Kan., and settled in Enid after living with her family in Nebraska, Texas and Kansas.

She worked for St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in the laundry department for 50 years, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

She is survived by her brothers, Victor and Raymond Martinez; sister, Mary Chambers; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tony Martinez; and sisters, Cruiz Lemon and Antonia Rojas.
